Day 11:
Weather: Sunny, no rain

As what we have planned earlier, all of us went to Han kou today in the late morning.
The auntie help us to book two vans to cater the 14 of us.
I think there are some miscommunication and misunderstanding with the other group this morning.
Eventually, we just left without them after .
I personally don't really understand what had happened and I merely can see Mr Wee was angry and in a messy.

We took some pictures in between while waiting for the rest to get ready.

XiuJin and I

The air was fresh and I love the weather today!

So We board the mini bus with JiaFu and Tee Yong.
The journey to HanKou took us about 45 minutes, the road was narrow and it looks like endless to me.
We didn't put any safety belt unlike it is compulsory in Singapore.
I still prefer Singapore drivers, the local drivers are reckless and impatient.
In my point of view, Singapore drivers are not suitable to drive in China due to several reasons.
First of all , the pedestrians cross dangerously without waiting for the vehicles to stop .
There are no lines or marking for the drivers to follow unlike in Singapore, there are double lines or bus lanes to follow during peak hours.
Pedestrains hardly use the bridge to cross the road and the use of zebra crossing was useless in here too.

On our way there, I also saw some locals fishing near the reservoirs using extremely thick and long fishing rode.
I'm not sure why they have to use such a long fishing rode.
I didn't snap any picture of it as I was more conscious about my own safety.

Finally, We reached our destination.
I was amused by the buildings as well as the structures.
The place is rather crowded perhaps it is weekend .

I placed my bag infront of me to minmise the risk of being rob or pickpocket.
I just to need to ensure my own safety.

As we walked down the street...
More buildings and shops along the path
Their signs along the path, before the road

Their local banks

I even spot a little boy riding his bicycle on the street along the shopping mall.

I also observed that their way of living is much more simple than Singaporeans.
They spent their lazy afternoon sitting ouside the shopping mall resting, reading newspaper as well as chatting.

From my observation, I noticed that the locals also love to queue for good foods, similar to Singaporeans.
Our common area.
Back in Singapore, you could also able to see people queuing oustide the famous food stalls.
Sometimes, the queue can stretch from one end to the another.
The rubbish bin found in the centre of the path, distrupting most of us.
As a group, we went to have our lunch first before we start to comb the whole area and begin our shopping marthoon.
The shops in the shopping mall:

Lunch :
The place where we settle down for lunch

The menu, flipping and deciding what for lunch.

What we have decided for lunch in the end:
Carmen, Alicia as well as Yankhee ordered crab porridge

The rest including me had ordered seafood baked rice for lunch.
I love the cheese and of course the rice, perhaps I was hungry by then.
However, it consists too much peas in the dish, so make me feel tired of it.
Filled our stomach full to brim, we start our shopping marthoon.
There are plenly of shops along paths like EBay and their local brands.
To me, it is a like another Orchard Road.
The prices of the stuffs are slightly higher than the Niu Xiang Square shopping mall.

Their local KTV for singing.
I saw a few of the local senior citizens played card oustide the KTV.

The local candies.
Bernice bought the strawberry coated with the candy one, I tried and it taste like normal candy.
My first time trying , not too bad.
I also took picture with the status along our way shopping.
It kind of fun to know their history as well as posting with the status

Bernice bought the berries from this uncle for 5 yuan.
From the photo above, he was chopping in the cold weather, wearing so little layers.
I seriously think the local senior citizens are way so strong and are able to withstand the cold weather, depsite so much younger than them.
Yes! I know I'm immaure.
I went to buy the Minnie Mouse balloon since I cannot resist the temptation of getting one for myself.
Furthermore, I couldn't grab a balloon freely and proudly back in Singapore as there are alot of familar faces I will bump onto on the street.
So I'm a elated kids for the day!
Meet up the rest at 5 p.m since we went separate way to shop after lunch.
JiaFu , our tour guide of the day, leads us and continue of our way to the next location.
As usual, I couldn't stop capturing and snapping pictures of my surroundings.
On my way walking down the street:

I was tired of holding the balloon so pass the ballon to XiuJin and Bao Hui helped to tied the ballon to her hand.
But the balloon flew high high in the sky after XiuJin let go from her hand.
I'm not sad at all, at least I get to grab the ballon and cherish that moment of happiest and brings back my childhoon memories.

Good bye, my balloon.

We finally reached another street after walking more than 1km and up to 4 stops I believed.
I was stunned by the condition of the street and the buildings around us.
Not to mention it was old but it left me a impression that it was going to collapse anytime.

The buildings:

There are lot of shops along the street selling cloths, internal garments , stationery, fake hairs and etc..
Of course there are street hawkers too.

It gives me a Lunar New Year atmosphere, like walking down in Chinatown.
Hair clips as well as fake hair.

Piles of cloths

Shop selling soft toys.

More pictures on street as well as the buildings

Adding on, I also noticed that the locals love to play mahjor as well, they can played regardless of the locations.
I saw a few of them playing in middles of the road or even in their shop although they still doing business.
From my observations, they just simply love to play mahjor to kill their times during their spare time.

I was also shocked to witness how the building was teared by the locals manually, without the aid of any face shovel and machines.
The contractors also didn't wear any safety helmet as well as fencing and hoarding the whole construction site.
No dangerous warning site was put up to alert the public.
I felt extremely petrified to walk pass the construction site.
Adding on , I also noticed that the locals like to spit their saliva everywhere and anyhow which I found it extremely disgusting when they did it just next to you when you are eating halfway.
In Singapore, we will definitely fined on the spot or several pairs of eyes will stare at you without fail.
Had our dinner at Macdonald before we head back to our hostel.
Overrall , I have enjoyed my day with the rest.
