Week 1:
Day 2 Thursday ( Cold Weather)

My second day at Wuhan.
I'm not used to the weather here yet but I will try to adapt the lifestyle here.
I strongly believed I need at at least 5 days to adapt it especially the weather.
It was freaking cold last night, I wore 3 layers of clothes to bed.
Thinking back, I think it's so insane to wear so many clothes if I'm back in Singapore.
I'm not to afraid to let you know, it was my first time in my life coming to China at this season.
I have also noticed that the sun over here rises early in the morning with the sky turning bright at around 6 a.m.
We also switched on our heater in our apartment throughout the whole night to maintain the room temperature.
In Singapore, we could only switch on air-conditional unit in our house for cooling purpose as the weather is scorching hot.

We took about 20 minutes to prepare and get ready to leave our house today.
I wore about 4 layers excluding the big pullover first time in my life.
I just feel cold and shivering like mad when I bathed.

Look how puffy they are!

Outside our apartment

Bernice and me!

Our way to the mobile shop in the hostel .

Heading towards the Wuhan institute of Technology

I took countless of photos on my way to campus.
I was surprised to see the condition of the local student's hostel.
As what I have observed, the local student's hostels are not as good as our current apartment in Wuhan.
They don't have even have a balcony to dry their laundry.
The local students just dry their laundry outside their door, hanging over there.
Adding on, their fellow female and male students don't living under one roof.
Furthermore, the male students are not allowed to enter the female's territory.
I have seen some guys taking with the girls right outside their territory.

Their kind of local bank which operate 24 hours .

Down the slope, still on our way to campus.

This is their local library for the students, totally different from what we have in the library in Singapore.
It was rather old and no air-conditional inside.
I have also spotted their drug campaign and employement advertisement on the wall .
Their choice of colours and visual are not as bright and noticeable compare to our Singapore advertisement.

Registration booth to join the institute.

This stall sells the local chinese newspapers, ranging from basketball news to politics news.
They also sells china prepaid cards as well local sim cards.

Supermarket at the campus.

I have also spotted three students smoking in the campus.
I didn't know students are allowed to smoke unlike in Singapore.
Singapore government banned and fined smoking badly if anyone violated the rules.
The local students are super active and they even played basketball outdoor in such a cool weather.
I can't believe what I see in my own eyes.
I was shivering like mad.

The local staffs and teachers' offices.

Had our breakfast at the opposite street.
We had to walked past the underground pass to come over this street due to the heavy traffic on the road.
To ensure our safety, we were told to use the underground pass.
The whole street was lively and crowded with students buying breakfast to school early in the morning.
It was similar to our night market in Singapore.
There are lots of variety of foods for breakfast like fried rice, noodles and buns.
They also sell bean curb and you tiao here too.

The street

One of the hawkers
Hair Salon for both females and males.
It was only like 12 yuan for cutting.

Selling delicious bao.
They roll the dough and make on the spot when you purchase.
We hardly see that in Singapore now.
Most of the baos in Singapore are factory made now.
I had this noodles for breakfast today!
It was yummy but I couldn't finish all.
I have noticed that the serving of food over here are huge and cheaper.
I was holding two bowls of noodles on the street !!
On top of it, I was eating my noodles while I was standing at the entrance of the street.

See, Lizhen also enjoyed eating her noodle!

On our way to campus after breakfast

The roadside stall selling fruits

The old lady picking up rubbish from the floor.
Can you spot the panda in the picture?

This is the metal/steel collection and selling centre I believed, similar to our old goods collectors we have in Singapore.
Small amount of money is given in exchange of the goods.
We did some shopping after the tour around the campus.
I just have to be prepared and accepted the fact that I have to climb 7 storeys everyday to the classroom.
I hardly climb the stairs in Singapore.
We went carrefour and bought numerous stuffs back to our hostel.
We bought detergent, toliet papers and all the daily necessities we need for the past 42 days.

Outside of the shopping mall.

Roadside stall at the shopping mall.
Wuhan Pizza Hut

On way back to our hostel.
Oh my god! We have to carry our heavy stuffs from the bus stop and walk all the way to our hostel.
It was quite a distance to our hostel.
Fortunately, we have Mr Wee to help us carry one bag.

I have snapped lots of photos on my way back which I find it pretty interesting and we only get to see in Wuhan.
