Week 2
Day 6 :Monday

Times really fly fast, 5 days have past .
By right, we should be resting at our hostel now yet we spent the whole afternoon shopping.
After we having our breakfast with Mr Wee, we took a 30minutes bus ride to Yao Mao shopping centre.
The bus journey was horrible ,as compared to Singapore.
Not to mention, the bus was not as well maintained as Singapore SBS bus seriously.
Adding on, the bus driver also drives extremely riskily.
I fall and trip in front of the door step when the driver suddenly break.
It's definitely hurt!
I have also observed that the local public bus stop every single stop, so there is no bell in the bus unlike Singapore.
Passengers have to alight the bus and hop off from the bus quickly, the driver just open the door for merely less than 10 seconds.
I was shocked to witness that especially I was standing right in front of the bus.
I think Singaporean will definitely complain and make big fuss, in term of safety I strongly believed.
I still prefer boarding SBS bus in such a good environment and not forgetting our friendly bus captain.

Yao Mao shopping centre was pretty similar to our local Orchard Road with their local branded label stuffs as well as other brands like Nike and addidas
The stuffs selling in this shopping department are rather expensive, cater to middle income and above I believed.
They have a Cinema at their last storey, their choice of movies are not much compare to Singapore. Most of the flims are screened in Chinese.
The tickets selling are slightly expensive but the food and tibits are selling cheaper.
Furthermore, there are no long queue in the selling counter none crowded.
It was rather surprising.

The Cinema
Not crowded at all.
A top view of the shopping department.
Street shopping
We even shop the nearby street stalls from the beginning to the end of the street.
Now I understand our girls power!
We simply love shopping, walking and eating!
We shop from 1 p.m to the night fall non-stop.
Snap and Snap :)

The street

Their kitchen
Wall full of advertisment like renting apartment and looking for jobs.

Provision shop at the street. There is even two telephones available to make phone call.

The local eating at the street, common sight.

Busy street.

Selling mixed vegetable rice on the street. The dishes are totally different from Singapore.

Another stall

The bakery shop
Their cakes are cheaper than Singapore and the design of the cakes are different too, in a more traditional styles.
Longevity buns on the cake means wish that birthday boy/girl have longer lifespan.
Their cute chocolate buns

The different types of biscuits

I spot this at one of shop selling female outfit, pretty interesting .
We didn't celebrate this festival back in Singapore.
Hahahaha
Our dinner : KFC

This set of KFC meal costs me 23 yuan .
Their set of meal come with juice and not pepsi.
The burger was yummy and tasty but their chilli sauce was in power form.
I'm don't really like their chilli sauce , I still prefer our local Chilli sauce.
I miss eating and dipping with it.

The environmentof KFC.

China KFC also offer delivery but their mode of transport is different from us.
As you can see from the photo, the local KFC delivery man use bicycle to delivery.
I have arrived Wuhan for 5days but I hardly see them cycling on the road.
Furthermore, Wuhan is so big unlike Singapore, they still can use bicycle to delivery and not other choice of motor vechicles.
I was shocked to discover that.

Yao Mao Shopping centre at night.

Busy street at night.

Wuhan Taxi stand.
They don't offer any seat while waiting for the taxi to arrive.
Anyone can just hop on to the cab in front of them, no queue and line at all.
I can't believe we have to faster grab and board the cab in front of us when we decide to take cab back to hostel.

The taxi driver's license

They also charge the taxi fare by the use of the meter like in singapore.
The difference is that they only accept cash and not nets.
The driver was patient and friendly who even offer and recommend us site places for us to visit.
The only problem we faced was we had hard time telling and explaining the driver where we heading to although we him Wuhan institute of Technology.
We couldn't remember the name of the street and where it's near to as there is another Wuhan university of Science and Technology.
Our heart was racing as we couldn't confirm with him.
Fortunately, we manage to reach our destination.
Finally relieved.

Their local advertisment on the bus.
Most of the advertisment I saw these days were promoting medicines and pills.

Our shopping items:
Grab at good buys, some even bought at S$8.
I bought a pair of sneakers and some gifts to bring back for my friends.

Our piles of stuffs

Extra :
I finally bought a local Sim card and make a phone call home.
The feeling was great when I get to update my parents and talk crap with brother.
I start to miss home badly , especially my mum's cooking and dishes.
Now I finally understand and learn to cherish what I have back in Singapore especially my family members.
